Swim

San Gil private lake is one of the largest artificial water bodies in Mexico and Latin America. With a constant monitoring of water quality, San Gil Lake offers a swimming stage in normally crystalline water, thanks to the constant care and monitoring of the lake, as well as its zero water motorboat policies.

Its extension allows for a 1.9km swimming stage for the 113K event, as well as smaller circuits for the swim portion of the San Gil 40K Triathlon, in this stage, the athletes make a triangle of 1 kilometer. Finally on the Multisport weekend, smaller circuits are setup for the children’s, youth and women categories that start in the sport.

Bike

The San Gil Triathlon cycling route is undoubtedly one of the biggest attractions of the medium-distance event.  It is considered one of the most difficult routes in Mexico, due to its climbing towards the city of Amealco.

The route begins within the highway of San Fandila that holds several smal hills for an up and down ride in a semi-desert landscape.  The second part of the race has a long climb that passes by a small canyon with spectacular views, holding a new landscape of plains and grass, and sets up the beginning of the forest area of the Municipality of Amealco.

In the end a long descent rewards the great effort of all the athletes.

The short Triathlon 40K event has its own challenge, since the San Fandila small hills require technique and resistance.

Run

The half marathon of the San Gil Triathlon takes place within the San Gil Club and Residential area. Running inside San Gil makes this stage not only very safe, but the residents of San Gil voluntarily offer additional aid stations in their homes, and they keep the athletes going as they cheer and encourage all the participants to finish their journey.

The half marathon and 7-kilometer stage for the Tri San Gil 40K takes place on the same circuit, except for the Bermuda Triangle, a desolate area in the newest part of the Residency which tests the strength and tenacity of all participants.
